As spring symbolizes new beginnings and growth in the natural world around us , Ruth Frances Rennie, 78, of Joppa, Maryland, completed her earthly journey on April 7, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
Born to Charles and Alvera (Weggel) Fritz in Baltimore, Ruth's life was defined by the deep connections she formed and nurtured. For 53 beautiful years, she shared her heart and home with her husband, John Rennie, creating a foundation of love that strengthened with each passing season.
For over three decades, Ruth brought her organizational talents and warm demeanor to Berg Family Dental Care in Forest Hill. As office manager, she became the welcoming presence that both staff and patients counted on until her retirement in the late 1990's, having dedicated 30 plus years to caring for the practice and its patients with unwavering commitment.
Ruth found profound joy in life's simple treasures: the rhythmic whisper of ocean waves and the welcome solitude during beach getaways in the OuterBanks of North Carolina, the meditative pleasure of creating with needle and thread, and the incomparable delight of watching her grandchildren grow. Her loyal German wirehaired pointer, "Gin," became her constant shadow and beloved companion as of late.
The tapestry of Ruth's life continues through those she leaves behind: her husband John; sons Jason M. Rennie (Alicia) and Eric S. Rennie; grandchildren Abigail E., Grace A., and Jackson P. Rennie; and sisters Mary Gorman and Peggy Bosely. She joins her parents, brother Charles Fritz, sister Dorothy Foley, and stepfather William Hewitt in the great beyond.
Ruth's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her genuine warmth, steadfast dedication, and boundless capacity for love.
There will be no formal service. Instead, the family will hold a remembrance celebration of Ruth's life, with details to be announced at a later date. Those wishing to honor her memory may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 – a reflection of her lifelong concern for the wellbeing of children.
