RUTH MILLER, age 89, of Havre de Grace, died in Citizens Nursing Home, Havre de Grace,
on April 7, 2005. Born in Renick, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Nettie March Simmons Boggs, and the wife for 46 years of the late Vyrus S. Miller. She was a co-owner and operator of the family business, the Miller Appliance and Furniture Company in Bel Air from 1946- 1986 working side by side with her husband. The youngest of 10 children, and a 1932 graduate of Bel Air High School, she was a charter member of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene and the church treasurer for 46 years. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning and crocheting. She enjoyed cooking meals for “anyone”. During the WW II she made gas masks at Edgewood Arsenal.
Mrs.Miller is survived by two sons, Robert E. Miller of Columbus, Ohio, and Steven V. Miller of Bel Air; three daughters, Jean Spalding of Centreville, Virginia, Linda G. Smith of Forest Hill, and Arlene M. Restrick of Bel Air; one sister, Nannie Reedy of Bourbonnais, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
