Ruth Mae Grafton Peak of Forest Hill passed on April 9, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, MD at age 89. She was born July 24, 1919 in Forest Hill, MD, daughter of Tony and Esther Grafton. Her late sisters were Dorothy Simmons of Forest Hill and Virginia Sena of Arizona. She graduated from Bel Air High School in 1937.
Ruth Peak is predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Peak and her son, Paul E. Peak. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Beall and husband, Charles; Deanna Bowker and husband, Butch; and daughter-in-law Debra Peak. Grandmother of Christopher Beall, wife Roni, and son Kyle; Todd Grubb, Ariane Grubb, Alicia Peak-LaRue, and P. Jason Peak.
As a beloved mother and grandmother, Ruth Peak was gentle and unassuming, kind to all, and loving in manner and deed. She was a great homemaker who delighted in cooking wonderful family meals, keeping a wholesome home and lifestyle, worshipping at Centre Methodist Church, gardening, decorating, and providing tender loving care to family and friends. Mrs. Peak worked at Glenn L. Martin's in the 1940's, raised three children, and later served as a sales associate at Rice's Bakery and Montgomery Wards.
Pallbearers include Christopher Beall, Todd Grubb, Ariane Grubb, Alicia Peak-LaRue, P. Jason Peak and John Grubb. Honorary pallbearers include Jeff Tyler, Randy Warfield, Herbert Harkins and Will LaRue.
