Ruth Eula Miller, age 100, of Bel Air, MD passed away on February 8, 2021 at Hart Heritage Estates in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Deep Gap, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Day) Greene and wife of the late Ernest Taft Miller. She was a founding member of The Arc NCR. She worked with nine other families from Harford and Cecil Counties and started the organization in their basement in 1953. She spent a lifetime advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and her vision and commitment to making this difference had a lasting impact on the community. Mrs. Miller was instrumental in the founding of John Archer School where she taught as a special education teacher for many years. Being a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1950, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and preparing meals in the church kitchen.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Betty J. Miller; niece, Mary and nephew, Gene Greene.
