Ruth B. Swift, age 95, of Parkville, Maryland passed away on January 4, 2017 at the Oak Crest Village in Parkville, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Moses Henry and Mary Louise (Huber) Jacobs, and was the wife of the late Woodrow B. Swift. She had worked for the Social Security Administration beginning as a balancing clerk and advancing to computer assistant before her retirement. During her Social Security career she received several outstanding service awards. She enjoyed traveling, and for a number of years, she volunteered at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Joppa. Her main focus was her marriage and her family.
Mrs. Swift is survived by children, Mary L. Swift of Parkville, Howard A. Swift of Nottingham, Larry Swift of Joppa, and daughter in law, Joyce Swift; grandchildren, Kellie Pauley, Gregory, Johnathan, Andrew, Timothy and Darren Swift, as well as several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charlotte Misler and Martin Jacobs.
