Ruth Anna Martin Ayres

Ruth Anna Martin Ayres, age 96, of Bel Air, MD died on August 8, 2016 at her daughter's home. Born in Forest Hill, MD to Lilburn Leo and Mary Catherine (Long) Martin, she was the wife of the late Ulysses Grant Ayres. She was a secretary for the U. S. Government and loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She enjoyed needlework, bowling, Bingo and was an avid Ravens, Orioles and tennis fan. She often crocheted and gave out afghans to neighbors.

Mrs. Ayres is survived by her daughter, Carolyn R. McIlwan (James) of Bel Air; son, Dennis C. Ayres (Deborah) of Street; sister, Lilice Norris of Forest Hill; grandchildren, Timothy, and Todd Clark, Kim Haight and Koren Buehler; great grandchildren, Anna Clark, Seth Haight, James Grant Clark, Andrew Asbury, Brian Haight, Ethan, Luke and Isabelle Clark; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Charles Lilburn Ayres, her brothers Frank, Granville, Carl, Ralph, and sisters Margaret, Dorothy, and Mildred.

Pallbearers will be great grandchildren Anna Clark, Seth Haight, James Grant Clark, Andrew Asbury, Brian Haight, Ethan Clark, Luke Clark, and Isabelle Clark.
