Ruth Anderson, age 89, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on May 25, 2021 at Dacota Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving children. Born and raised in Abingdon, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late J. Norman and Mildred (Moulsdale) Davis and wife of 69 years to the late Jerry Anderson, Sr. Ruth retired after 50 years of service at McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon as a hairdresser.
She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company and received the Harford/Cecil County Hall of Fame award for her service to the community.
Ruth had a keen eye for making floral arrangements and a talent for ceramics. She loved swimming, boating and camping and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Langbeen and husband Rob; son, Stephen L. Anderson; daughter-in-law, Kelly Anderson; grandchildren, Mick Scott and his wife Kelly, Chris Scott, Nicholas Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Kelsey Anderson, Carly McKenzie and her husband James, Camryn Anderson; and great grandchildren, Kyla Scott, Joshua Scott, Jericho Scott, Dustin Anderson, Maddison Anderson, and Maci McKenzie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Jerry Anderson Jr., brother, Jim Davis, and sisters, Elma Baker and Esther Kirmse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dacota Assisted Living, 603 W. Bel Air Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
