RUSSELL MAXWELL, age 83, of Bel Air, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on September 25, 2005. Born in Sparta, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William Rex and Janet Neoma Russell Maxwell. He had worked for the U.S. Army as a management analyst and a cryptographer at Aberdeen Proving Ground for over 30 years. He had served his country in the U.S. Army in both WW II and the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed walking his dogs. Everyone knew him as a kind man.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys M. Maxwell; two brothers, Robert Maxwell of York, Pennsylvania and Richard Maxwell of England; one sister, Lacy Cassady of Florida; a daughter, Carmen Michael of Bel Air; and a grandson, Cole Michael also of Bel Air, currently living with them. He is predeceased by a sister, Anna-Mae Sadler formerly of Whiteford.
Russell was known to many as the “kindness” man they had ever known. He was giving, forgiving, and always brought out the good in everything and everyone. He will be deeply missed by everyone who ever crossed his path. He was a Godly and Spiritual man that gave his love deeply to everyone. He will always be remembered for his honesty and gentleness. He was a truly devoted man to everyone, especially his wife, daughter, and grandson and nothing could ever fill their hearts as he did.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Hess, Steven Hess, Gary Warfield, Nelson Friend, Ricky Friend, and Tommy Doyle.
