Rudolph Carroll, age 87, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on October 28, 2014 at his home. Born in Bladen County, NC, he was the son of the late William Avery and Jimmie Melissa Bryan Carroll. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he served our country during WWII. He worked at Interpace in Perryman before his employment as a crane inspector at CICB. He was also a private contractor for crane inspections. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he enjoyed gardening and working on antique cars.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene Hayes Carroll; sons, Rudy Carroll and wife, Deborah, and William David Carroll and wife, Debra, all of Bel Air; daughters, Cassandra Chappell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sylvia Carroll of Bel Air; sister, Nell Rae Adams of Newport News, VA; nine grandchildren, Stephen Chappell and his wife, Ella, Kim Kreager and her husband, Jim, Christina Geppi and her husband, Mike, Jason Carroll and his wife, Hollie, Alan Carroll and his fiancée Chris, Aaron Strong, Tracy Mayeski and her husband, Robb, Dustin Carroll and his fiancée Stephanie, and Dana Carroll; and seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa Carroll, Kate Carroll, Mason Kreager, Solomon Chappell, Emiliya Chappell, Avery Markakis and Camryn Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Roy L. Chappell; three brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jason, Alan and Dustin Carroll, Jimmy Kreager, Mike Geppi and Matt Kelly. Honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Strong.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church Deacon's Fund, 206 E. Courtland Place, Bel Air, MD 21014.
