Ruby Mae Cantler, age 76, of Abingdon, MD passed away on January 14, 2012 at her home. Born in Marion, VA, she was the daughter of the late Carl James Simons and Virgie Ethel Vipperman Whitley. A homemaker, she enjoyed bowling with the Seniors and was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God for over 50 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren, read her Bible and cooked for her family.
Mrs. Cantler is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Sampson Cantler of Abingdon, MD; son, Donald C. Cantler of Rising Sun, MD; daughters, Debbie Kay Smallwood of Edgewood, MD, Denise Louise Jamack of Abingdon, MD and Donna Navarro of Airville, PA; sisters, Nancy Dotson of Piney Creek, NC and Juanita Miller of Churchville, VA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her grandson, David Johnston.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Love, Peter Jamack, Matthew Smallwood, Adam Johnston, Zachary Jamack, Rigoberto Navarro, Ryan Smallwood, and Gene Deener.
