Ruby J. Lewis

Ruby J. Lewis, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on January 15, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Fleetwood, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Houck Moretz, and wife of the late Walter Lee Lewis. She worked at Bata Shoe Company and then for Edgewood Arsenal, from where she retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and had also attended Big Flatts Baptist Church in Fleetwood, NC. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and going to yard sales.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her son, Howard F. Lewis of Joppatowne, MD; daughter, Norma Jean Lewis of El Paso, TX; sisters, Dorothy Greene of Columbia, SC and Mary Nell Simons of Creswell, MD; five grandchildren, Vaughn, Amy, and David Lewis and Lloyd and Robert Reeves; and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Sequoia, and Cheyenne Lewis and Hannah and Matthew Reeves.
