Roy "Scotty" Watson, age 91, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on November 19, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Furches, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Cleveland and Delia Mae Irwin Watson. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during WWII. A Harford County resident for 77 years, he retired after 25 years as a civil servant at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He owned and operated a cab service in Bel Air before working 13 years at the Bel Air Police Department under Chief McMahan. He was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Churchville Golden Agers and enjoyed going to his cabin at Broad Creek.
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sophia Maria Watson of Bel Air, MD; sons, Jerry Watson and his wife Jean, of Darlington, MD and Ron R. Watson and his wife, Sharon M. of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Marilyn Holloway and her husband, Gary of Riverview, FL; brother, George T. Watson of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Rob and Dale Watson and their mother, Phyllis Watson Bechtold, Sondra Hollister, Cynthia Sperl, David and Cara Watson, Kevin and Brian Holloway, Kim Foster, and Scott, Todd and Holly Watson; and great grandchildren, Natalie, Charlotte, and Ben Sperl, Peter Hollister, and Elizabeth and Emily Foster. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, R. Lebert Watson Jr.
