Roy Lee Lawson

ROY LEE LAWSON, age 79, of Aberdeen, died in Mariner Health of Bel Air on April 3, 2004. Born in Tazwell, Virginia, he was the son of the late Joseph Buckles and Sarah Ann Witt Lawson, and the husband of the late Joan P. Wilson Lawson. He had retired in 1986 after 40 years of service as a mechanic at Bata Shoe Company. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church and a faithful reader of his Bible. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII.

Mr. Lawson is survived by one son, Gary Donovan of Edgewater; one daughter, Joyce L. Phipps of Aberdeen; one sister, Leola V. Hamm of Joppa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Brian D. Donovan; Keith A, Donovan; seven brothers and sisters, and his step-mother, Anna Lawson.

Pallbearers were: Gary Parker, Barry Hudler, Gary Shivery, Lawrence Saban, Todd Smith, Gary Donovan, and Scott Donovan.
