Ross Thompson Monks

Ross Thompson Monks, age 86, of Bel Air, MD passed away on August 6, 2012 at Madonna Heritage in Jarrettsville, MD. Born in Bel Air, he was the son of the late John William and Hazel Irene Thompson Monks, and husband of the late Doris P. Adams Monks. He worked for many years at Hollander's on Main Street in Bel Air, Plaza Ford as a service writer, and finally at Benson Barrack for the State Police in the maintenance department where he retired. He was a member of Churchville Presbyterian Church and enjoyed his social lunches with his "Kissin' Cousin" group and breakfasts with the Retired Troopers Association.

Mr. Monks is survived by his daughters, Linda J. McElwain of White Hall, MD and Susan E. Dootson of Columbia, SC; sister, Mary Beth Matson of York, PA; and grandchildren, Brian S. and Leslie E. McElwain and Jonathan L. Dootson. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Hubert and Kent Monks.
