ROSETTA A. ENSOR of Bel Air, died January 3, 2005 at St. Josephs Medical Center in Towson, following surgery. She was 83.
Born in Jarrettsville, July 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late J. Henry and Callie (nee Jones) Amrein.
Married 59 years to her late husband, Benjamin T. Ensor, she was a homemaker. Actively involved in her children’s lives, she was “scouting mom”, “little league mom”, “majorette mom”, “theater mom”, and “P.T.A. mom”.
A graduate of Jarrettsville High School, she had a sincere love of her native Harford County and its history. Her concern for the preservation of farmlands was well known.
She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ensor was survived by sons, Gary M. Ensor of Bel Air, Randy M. Ensor of Paeonean Springs, Virginia; a daughter, Susan Lee Hudler and her husband, Larry, of Delta, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Emily K. Ensor of Winchester, Virginia and Benjamin M. and Jamie Lynn Hudler, both of Delta, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Paul Amrein of Bel Air, Otis Amrein of Jarrettsville; and three sisters, Lettie Chinaris of Rockledge, Florida, Lucy Rash of Bel Air, and Darlene Heaps of Dublin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Ann Ensor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Harford Christian School, 1736 Whiteford Road, Darlington, MD 21034 or to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 1510 Deep Run Road, Whiteford, MD 21160.
