Rose Marie Durante

Rose Marie Durante, age 87, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on June 27, 2024, at Accent Care of Christiana in Newark, Delaware. Born in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of the late Giordino “Bruno” and Lucille (D'Alessandro) Serpone and the beloved wife of the late James Michael Durante.

A devoted member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Otisville, New York and more recently Saint Margaret Church of Bel Air, Rose Marie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was her everything. She was an exceptional homemaker, known for her delicious Italian cuisine, which her family eagerly anticipated at Sunday dinners.

Her condo was adorned with lush, thriving houseplants, a testament to her green thumb. In her earlier years in New York, she was an avid gardener, building a beautiful garden around her stone cottage on Mount Hope. Rose Marie cherished family vacations in Ocean City, MD, and enjoyed her later years surrounded by a close-knit group of friends, sharing long conversations and lunches together.

Rose Marie is survived by her daughter, Debra Cardillo; sons, Sebastian Mancusi, Vincent Durante, Christopher Durante, and Matthew Durante; and grandchildren, Michael Cardillo, Christopher Cardillo, James Durante, and Anthony Durante.
