Ronnie C. Hooper

Ronnie C. Hooper, age 68, of Street, MD passed away on April 16, 2015 at his home. Born in Blackhorse, MD, he is the son of the late James Marion Hooper and Virginia May Phillips Haugh. He was a 1964 graduate of Bel Air High School. He worked for a family-owned business, Harford Sanitation Services, Inc., as a supervisor, for 38 years.

He was a member of the Bel Air Moose and Sons of the American Legion(SAL), Post 39, where he could be found making people laugh with his sophisticated and sometimes made up vocabulary. He had a zest for life and was an avid golfer, traveler and bird watcher for many years, identifying hundreds of species. His love of bird watching led to photography and many close friendships.

Mr. Hooper is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Mae Vaught Hooper; sons, David S. Hooper and wife Kaylene of Dover, DE and Timothy J. Hooper and wife Liz of Airville, PA; daughters, Tracey M. Pullen and husband Dave of Jarrettsville and K. Travis Hooper of Street; brother, David J. Hooper and wife Wilma of Bel Air; sister, Patricia Powers Bunce and husband Owen of Bel Air; and grandchildren Meagan, Joshua, Reagan, Kendell, Cambrie, and Gabriel Hooper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bob Hooper.

Pallbearers will be: Brother David Hooper, Nephew Yuri Hooper, Nephew Donald Gill, Grandson Joshua Hooper and treasured friends Jack Diggin and Todd Holden.

Honorary pallbearers are: Nieces Pamela Powers and Kim Caplan and Jacob Michael, and Patrick Wiley.
