Ronald Wayne Benfield

Ronald Wayne Benfield, 54, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Ron is survived by his wife, Tania of 30 years. He was the loving and devoted father to Alexander and Blake Benfield. Ron was the son of the late Marvin Benfield and Sarah Ruth Benfield.

Ron, a lifelong resident of Harford County, graduated from Towson University and went on to be a successful businessman and land developer. Ron was an avid outdoorsman. Spending the days on the water deep sea fishing, with his sons, his brother and his friends was a true joy for him.

Ron was the youngest of six children. He is survived by Charles Benfield, Diana Korssun, Wanda Murphy, Vicki Gardner. He is further survived by loving nephews, nieces and many friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bingham.

Immediately following the service a reception will be at Maryland Golf and Country Club.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Ron's name to support organizations that meant a lot to him: HopeWell Cancer Support, The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, or wetlands and waterfowl conservation through Ducks Unlimited.
