Ronald Joseph Piffath, age 75, a long-time resident of Edgewood, MD and recently of Belcamp, MD, died on June 27, 2010 at his home. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank Joseph and Mary Oswald Piffath and husband of the late Maureen Claire Tracy Piffath. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a research chemist at Edgewood Arsenal until his retirement in 2000. A graduate of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, and graduate student at MIT, he loved soccer, Formula One Racing, model railroad trains, English comedies, and had a huge collection of Frank Sinatra.
Mr. Piffath is survived by his son, Steve J. Piffath of Aberdeen, MD; daughter, Nancy J. Bowman of Belcamp, MD; and four grandchildren, Shannon Clair and Raechel Maureen Bowman, both of Belcamp, MD, Jonas Michael and Connor James Piffath, both of Aberdeen, MD. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Arthur J. Piffath.
