ROLAND RICHARD QUINN SR., age 74, of Rising Sun, MD, died on July 29, 2007 at Gilchrist Center, Towson, MD. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Aldege Joseph Quinn and Blanche Anita Descheneau Picard. He served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1960 and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves from 1972-1993. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Baltimore City Fire Department in June 1980. During his career he was an instructor at The Fire Academy. After his retirement from the fire department, he became a teacher at Eastern VoTech High School where he later retired. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife of 53 years, T. Nancy Bonds Quinn of Rising Sun, MD; four sons, Roland Richard Quinn Jr. of Dundalk, MD, Kenneth Michael Quinn of Baltimore City, MD, Paul Eugene Quinn of Belcamp, MD, and Patrick John Quinn of Edgewood, MD; three daughters, Audrey Jean Quinn of Belcamp, MD, Michelle Janine Gutfleisch of Rosedale, MD, and Antoinette Marie Smith of Columbia, MD; two sisters, Clair Martin of Orlando FL, and Lucille Dizoglio of Methewin, MA; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Marcell Cooper.
