Roberta Kay Newnan, age 60, of Bel Air, MD, died on August 29, 2008 at her home. Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of Kathleen Kay Knisley Blackburn of Perry Hall, MD and the late Robert S. Blackburn. She moved with her family to the Baltimore area in 1963. A graduate of Towson University and Loyola College, she spent 32 years in public education and retired, this past July, as Assistant Principal of Perry Hall Middle School. She attended St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Emmorton.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Newnan is survived by her husband of 32 years, Timothy P. Newnan Sr. of Bel Air, MD; step-daughter, Jennifer McIntire of Port Deposit, MD; three brothers, Mel Blackburn of Towson, MD, Michael Blackburn of Eldersburg, MD, and Wayne Blackburn of New Jersey; and three grandchildren, Timothy Kelly, Michael McIntire, and Christopher McIntire, all of Port Deposit, MD. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her stepson, Timothy P. Newnan Jr.
