ROBERT “BOB” WADE VAUGHT, 81, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Fredericksburg, VA. He was the son of the late Miner Wade and Beliesa Irene Bourne Vaught. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Fredna; his son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Jeanne; his daughter, Margaret Hart and her husband Bob, of Stillwater, Minnesota; grandson, Scott Vaught and his fiancé, Mandy Testerman of Catawba, VA; granddaughter, Lindsay Vaught of Prague; granddaughter, Erica Carpenter of Stillwater, MN; and great-grandson, Quintin Loughney of Stillwater, MN.
He is also survived by siblings; Lois Lyons of Fallston, MD; Mattie Wingate of Crockett, VA; Annie Carter of Bel Air, MD; Dan Vaught of Adkins, VA; Ted Vaught of Independence, VA; Peggy Eckel of Wythville, VA; David Vaught and Lester Vaught both of Galax, VA.
Robert, a native of Elk Creek, VA, served in the United States Navy Armed Guard, spent his adult life in Bel Air, MD. Bob was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities. He was the owner of Vaught’s television sales and service. A lover of antique cars he started or helped to start two car clubs. Ten years ago he retired to “Robert’s Folly”, a log cabin in the woods at Elk Creek, VA.
Pallbearers were Thomas Walls, Charles Nichols, Donald Muir, Keith Pardew, Robert Eckel and Joseph Wilson.
