ROBERT THOMPSON, SR., age 74, of Havre de Grace, died at Jacobs Well Assisted Living, Bel Air, on January 19, 2004. Born in Havre de Grace, he was the son of the late Millard Hawkins Thompson and and the late Rosa Adelaide Bradford Chapman. He had retired from the city of Havre de Grace after 25 years of service where he was an operator at the water treatment plant. A lifelong resident of Harford County, he was a dairy farmer for 20 years. He was a past member of Level Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Rock Run United Methodist Church where he was active in the past. He taught work ethnics to his children.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Loretta B. McCoy Thompson; two sons, Michael A. and his wife Janet Thompson of Havre de Grace; Robert L. Thompson of Port Deposit; two daughters, Stephanie A. Anderson of El Paso, Texas; Patricia L. Thurn of North East, Maryland; three brothers, Charles Thompson; L. Dale Thompson; and Grant Thompson all of Havre de Grace; two sisters, Betty Kearney of Phoenix, Arizona; Joan Scarlato of Havre de Grace; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Thompson, Robert Thompson, Jr., Calvert Thurn, Rodney Anderson, Heath Thompson, Danny Bumba and Wayne Bowman.
