Robert Thomas Gehr, 74, of Edgewood, MD passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017 at Gilchrist Hospice at GBMC in Towson, MD.. Born in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of Lawrence A. Gehr and Marian Elizabeth (Taylor) Gehr who preceded him in death. A veteran of the U.S. Army for 20 years, he worked for the Department of Defense as an instructor. He was a member of American Legion Post 17 and was a Past Commander at the Abingdon VFW Post 5337. He was a Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member and usher at St. Stephens Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and military history.
Mr. Gehr is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty (Clendening) Gehr; daughter, Teri (Gehr) Sigwart and husband, Gary, of Bel Air; brother, Lawrence A. Gehr II of Johnson City, NY; grandchildren, Robby Sigwart and Kyle Sigwart; and numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews.
