Robert Richard Gavlinski, age 85, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on April 29, 2022 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Dickson City, Pennsylvania and was the son of John Gavlinski and Estelle (Wilchenski) Bielinski. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a chemical engineer for the U.S. Government at Edgewood Arsenal. He was a Past Commodore and life-long member of Bush River Yacht Club. He spent much of his life cruising the Chesapeake Bay and enjoying river boat cruises with his wife, Judi. Bob was an intelligent, friendly, and goofy guy and was known well for his great sense of humor. He was an outgoing man who loved to take his family on adventures any chance he got. His family was the most important thing, and his memory will live on along the shores of the bay, especially at the gunk-hole he called “Belly Button Beach”.
Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith Gavlinski; daughters, Mara (Paul) Sierocinski and Kristin (Patrick) Pollard; son, Jeffrey (Corinne) Gavlinski; grandchildren, Jack, Joseph, Lena, Jana, Emily and Grace; and great-grandson, Ivan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Gavlinski.
Contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 110 W. Bel Air Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
