Robert Redford Brown

October 21, 1955 — July 14, 2022

Robert Redford Brown,  66, of Bel Air, Maryland died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 14, 2022 at Gilchrist Hospice after a six year battle with melanoma.   Born October 21, 1955, Rob was the son of the late Frederick Wesley Brown and Nancy Redford Brown of Timonium.  He is survived by his companion of 16 years, Susan L. Hansen, his two sons, Robert Redford Brown (JR) and his wife Rachel, Grason Keen Brown and his wife Elizabeth, a sister Jeanne Brown Gardner and her husband Keith, and his recently discovered half sister, Janet Tornell, and half brother, David Morison.   Rob was most proud of his grandchildren, Stuart, Annie and Wesley, and Susan’s grandchildren, Jayla and Tyler.  Rob will also be remembered by Sue’s daughters, Brooke Rice and Sandra Carlisle, nieces Lindsay Gardner (Tyler) and Jackie Slocum (Drew) and his former wife, Katherine Adolph.

Rob graduated from Dulaney High School in 1973 and Towson University in 1977. He started working at AAI following graduation, but his true love was big trucks and anything that he could take apart and put back together again. For most of his life you could find him happily driving any type of dump truck or large piece of equipment.  He could fix anything and his love of trucks and his innate mechanical ability was clearly passed onto his sons.  He founded Keen and Redford Contracting and his sons operate under Redford Excavating.
