Robert Lester Peterson, 77, of Darlington, MD, passed away at home on November 25, 2013. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Walter Frederic and Grace Goldie McAllister Peterson. In the late 50's, he began work at the Ballistic Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground as an electronics technician. Bob traveled extensively with his job and enjoyed working in various parts of the country. In 1988 he retired from APG and went to work as a Senior Field Engineer for Allied Signal. He later worked part-time as a courier for Diagnostic Pathology Labs. He enjoyed woodworking and attended classes at the Parks & Rec. Woodshop. Bob was proud of his grandchildren and loved his family, his country, nature, and all four seasons.
Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Robin Hooper Peterson; son, Robert Scott Peterson and wife, Phyllis, of Cleveland, TN; daughters, Karen Simmons and husband, Brian, of Forest Hill, Julie Peterson of Rainier, WA and Julie Bahr and husband, Michael, of Owings Mills; brother, David Peterson of Holliston, MA; sisters, Nancy Reisler of Rising Sun, Susan Roney of Ocala, FL and Linda Van Stratton of Lakewood, OH; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Grant, Eric, Wade, Douglas, Taylor, Lindsey and Jorda, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Trial Run Farm.
