Robert Lee Hertzog

Robert Lee Hertzog, age 102, of Forest Hill, MD, formerly of Bel Air, died on December 10, 2010, at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Penns Grove, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert Samuel and Florence Hughes Hertzog, and husband of the late Thelma Isabelle McKean and Mary Ellen Downey. A resident of Harford County since 1983, he was an active member of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene, where he went on many missionary work and witness trips abroad. He worked eight years for Martin Marietta as a machinist, and then worked until retirement at Middlestadt Machine Company as a Tool and Die Designer.

Mr. Hertzog is survived by his son, Dr. Robert William Hertzog and wife, Rebecca, of East Aurora, NY; daughter, Margaret Ivalene Parrish Moody and husband, William, of Salisbury, MD; grandchildren, John C. Parrish III and wife, Virgie, of Laurel, DE, Roseanne C. Farlow and husband, Essel Theodore, of Pittsville, MD, Donella B. Hudson and husband, David, of Laurel, DE, Brian David Hertzog and wife, Stephanie, of Arlington, VA, Sheryl Lynn Hertzog Smith and husband, Andrew, of Buffalo, NY, Brent Warren Hertzog of Saugerties, NY; and seven great-grandchildren, Max E. Hertzog, Joshua I. Hertzog, Haley I. Hertzog, Nathan A. Smith, Aaron M. Smith, John C. Parrish IV, and Rayne R. Farlow. In addition to his parents and wives, he was predeceased by his daughter, Thelma Evangeline Hertzog of Bel Air, MD; and sister, Margaret Hertzog Southern of Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene, 2430 Conowingo Road, Bel Air, MD 21015.
