Robert L. Scharmann Sr.

Robert L. Scharmann Sr., age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 5, 2008 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Stevens and Almira Poole Scharmann. He worked for Martin Marietta for 30 years as an electrical engineer and then for Harford County Department of Public Works for 16 years, from where he retired in 1982. He was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where he was a member of the "Holy Folders".

Mr. Scharmann is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ensor Scharmann of Bel Air, MD; two sons, Robert L. Scharmann Jr. (Rita) of Bel Air, MD and Charles T. Scharmann (Jo-Ann) of Englewood, CO; four daughters, Georgia Jean Shannahan (Bill) of Tilghman Island, MD, Patricia Anne Pospahala (Don) of Chester, VA, Betty L. Gillis (Allan) of Belcamp, MD, and Pamela Scharmann Peterson (Scot) of Wheaton, IL; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
