Robert J. Michocki, PharmD, BCPS Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, age 71, of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 15, 2019 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Peter Paul and Rose Cecelia (Walas) Michocki and husband of 48 years to Corinne (Barczak) Michocki. Robert J. Michocki, PharmD, BCPS, earned both his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (1971) and a Doctor of Pharmacy degrees (1975) at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and completed a two-year clinical pharmacy residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). while at UMMC, he developed practice sites in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and family medicine, as well as an ambulatory geriatric practice at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a board certified pharmacotheraphy specialist. Dr. Michocki has received numerous teaching awards from both the School of Pharmacy and the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Department of Family and Community Medicine. Dr. Michocki has more than 50 peer reviewed publications and several book chapters and has written and lectured extensively in the areas of geriatric pharmaceutical care for the elderly, medication management, patient education, and the promotion of pharmaceutical care. He was a member of several professional associations for pharmacists and pharmacy educators.
In addition to wife, Corinne Michocki, Robert is survived by daughter, Melinda Michocki and her husband, Jay Fratta; two granddaughters, Lucy and Daisy Fratta; two sisters, Patricia Smith-Appley and Bernadette Thoman; and brother, Dennis Michocki.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Thomas Michocki.
