Robert James Smith, Jr.

Robert James Smith, Jr., age 86, of Rosedale, Maryland passed away on April 5, 2023 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Danville, Virginia, he was the son of Robert James Smith, Sr. and Iris (Patterson) Smith and husband of the late Patricia Elaine (Sears) Smith. He worked for Asphalt Services for many years and enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. Robert enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, camping, loved country and bluegrass music and was an amazing, self-taught harmonica player.

Robert is survived by his son, Wayne Joseph (Dawn Renee) Edwards-Smith of Aberdeen, MD; grandchildren, Jessica Renee (Patrick) Looney of Hendersonville, NC and Luke Joseph Edwards-Smith of Aberdeen, MD; and brothers, Clinton Otis (Arlene) Smith of Glenville, PA and Michael Raymond Smith of Middle River, MD.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Anthony Smith and his sister, Iris June Hill.

The family will be hosting a graveside service on April 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD followed by lunch at the home of Wayne & Dawn.
