Robert J. Fleming, age 86, of Forest Hill, MD, formerly of Aberdeen, died on September 29, 2009 at Four Seasons Assisted Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Kelly, KS, he was the son of the late Joseph James and Mary Christdana McGrath Fleming, and husband, for 30 years, of the late Alma Catherine Logan Fleming. He retired, after 22 years, from the Army Corp of Engineers where he was a tug boat operator. A 20 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served his country during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion, as well as, a life member of the DAV. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, and as an avid hunter, he enjoyed working with his hunting dogs.
Mr. Fleming is survived by his daughter, Christy L. DeMarco and husband, Drew, of Forest Hill, MD; stepson, Raymond Fuller of Atlanta, GA; sister, Mary Shanbour of St. Joseph, MO; and five grandchildren, Danielle C. DeMarco, Trevor A. DeMarco, and Jon Fuller, all of Forest Hill, MD, Rebecca Kinsey and Kelly Fuller, both of Atlanta, GA In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his stepson, Wesley Fuller; brothers, William, George, and Syril Fleming; and sister, Ann Ice.
Pallbearers will be Drew DeMarco, Chris DeMarco, Emil DeMarco, Trevor DeMarco, Jon Fuller, and Hayes Smith.
