Robert “Bobby” Francis Povleski, age 71, of Parkville, Maryland passed away on January 22, 2021 at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Coyne) Povleski and, for over 50 years the stepson of Mary Jane Povleski. He was retired as a foreman in the family construction company.
Bobby was a drummer. He was a drummer who marched to his own beat. He graduated from Calvert Hall College High School and St. Francis College. He was a quiet person who enjoyed a good story and a laugh. He was a listener, not a talker. But he listened intently and remembered everything. Later in life he developed a passion for art and music. He taught himself how to play the guitar and the banjo. Bobby also painted prolifically. His happiest times were on the family farm where he especially enjoyed caring for horses. In addition to the family farm, he sometimes worked at several racetracks and Sagamore Farm. Above all Bobby was kind and caring. He would give you the shirt off his back – which he once literally did for a homeless person in the city.
Bobby is survived by his sister Kathy Povleski and his brother Jay Young.
