ROBERT DONALD ADON@ KILBY, age 76, of Bel Air, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on June 5, 2004. Born in Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Guy and Annie Elledge Kilby. He was a native of North Carolina where he began his 50 + year career in the automotive business. For the past 25 years he has been a partner at Bel Air Nissan Subaru Hundai in Bel Air. An avid gardener, he enjoyed nothing more than working in his garden and cooking for all his employees every Saturday at the dealership. A deeply devoted family man, he cherished the time he spent with his wife of 47 years and his five grandchildren.
Mr. Kilby served honorably with the North Carolina National Guard where he retired after 20 years of service in the mid 70=s. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching college football and basketball as well as all types of major league sports. He enjoyed the outdoors where he spent time with his family at their cabin on Broad Creek.
Mr. Kilby is survived by his wife, JoAnne Miller Kilby; one son, Robert Bryan Kilby and his wife, Janie Reeves Kilby of Street; one daughter, Donna Kilby Decker and her husband, Mark S. Decker of Bel Air; two brothers, Ralph Kilby of Wilksboro, North Carolina; Grady Kilby of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one sister, Sue Kilby Myers of Thomasville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Mark Stephen Decker, Jr.; Natalie Kilby Decker, both of Bel Air; Sarah Catherine Kilby; Caroline Grace Kilby; and Elizabeth Reeves Kilby, all of Street.
