ROBERT CYRIL LEACH, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 28, 2007 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, MD. Born in Rathmel, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas Meade and Mary Ethel Morrison Leach and husband of the late Sarah-Clarke Smith. A Captain in the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Baltimore in 1948 and Temple University in Philadelphia in 1950. He was an accountant and worked for the International Paper Company, retiring after 25 years and also with the State Department of Assessment and Taxes, retiring after 17 years. A member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Bel Air, he was past president and treasurer of the Izaak Walton League of America-Harford County Chapter. He was also a member of the American Legion-Harford Post # 39 in Bel Air, where he was a chaplain, and the Maryland State Defense Force.
Mr. Leach is survived by one son, Robert Meade Leach of West Virginia; one daughter, Dulany L. McElreavy of Stratham, NH; two sisters, Ruth Leach Engle of Emporium, PA and Joann Leach Tatters of DuBois, PA; and two grandchildren, Megan K. Reynolds and her husband, Craig, of Red Lion, PA and Melissa S. C. McElreavy of Stratham, NH.
