  Robert E. Cooper Sr. (Bob), aged 85, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Stella Maris Hospice Unit in Timonium, Maryland. Born on February 24, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama, Bob was the son of Ruth and Henry, with a brother, Leroy. Bob is proceeded by his parents and his brother, as well as both his ex-wife and his wife. Bob served proudly in the US Army from May 23, 1956, to May 14, 1959, achieving the rank of Corporal and serving as a tank commander in Fulda, Germany. Bob spent 30 Years as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the Veterans Administration in Baltimore, Maryland, earning respect throughout the Veterans community until his retirement.

 Bob's first marriage to Lois A Stevens lasted 15 years, and they had three children: Robert E. Jr.(Cherie), Kem R.(Iquo), and Ron M.(Barbara). 

 His second marriage of 50 years to Mary Jane Cooper (Mezzie) brought two more children: Gregory D.(Karen) and Chelsey L.    

Bob is survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren: 

Grand Children:  Robert Ⅲ, Brandon, Morgyn, Christina(Corey), Amber(Gary), Timothy (Mariana), Kristen (Wesley), Phillip, Lauren, Wayne, Sadie, Mac, Jake, Jessie, Sarah, Jonathan, Macie, and Isaac 

Great Grandchildren:  Kanon, Lily, PJ, Camden, Ayden, Pily, Edelyn, Kaleb, Maria, Aaliyah Bryce, Kyla, Kalea, Kalani, Jeffrey, Jaiden, Jocelynn.  

An active sports enthusiast, Bob played baseball and golf and even held the Welterweight boxing championship in Germany during his military service. His love for bowling spanned 52 years, even considering a professional career. Bob served as President of several bowling leagues and supported Baltimore sports, with a particular fondness for the Orioles and Ravens. Family gatherings, card games, and Monopoly were among his favorite pastimes.   Bob's loved ones, friends, and acquaintances will forever remember him for his warm smile, witty humor, and devoted love of family.

Robert will be laid to rest alongside his wife at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville Md.
