Robert C. Alter

Robert C. Alter, age 73, of Forest Hill, MD passed away on April 14, 2017 at his home. Born in Essex, MD, he was the son of Frederic William and Margaret C. (Reusing) Alter. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked for the State of Maryland for 38 years, retiring in June of 2004. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and volunteered at the Harford County Woodshop. He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and playing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed going on road trips and vacations.

Mr. Alter is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Brenda F. Alter; children, David B. Alter and wife, Susan of Ellicott City, Jeff S. Alter and wife, Shelley of Churchville, Michele L. Young and husband, Randy of Forest Hill; siblings, Fred Alter, Jr. and wife, Susan of Houston, TX, Margaret Henricheon and husband, Ernie of Bedford, NH, Bill Alter and wife, Dee of Graceton, PA, Jim Alter and wife, Donna of Fairfax, VA, George Alter and wife, Neena of Charlotte, NC, Steve Alter and wife, Marion of Tuston, CA, and Barb McLaughlin and husband, Pat of Chester, NH; grandchildren, Kiersten and Logan Young, Ben, Kaitlyn, Henry and Nathan Alter.
