Robert T. Adams, 94, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill. Born in Ferncliff, Maryland, he was the son of the late Earl and Hassie (Mink) Adams. He was married to his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Wineman) Adams, for 61 years.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Marines, Robert was a dedicated family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His hardworking spirit and unwavering commitment to his family were evident in all he did.
Robert was a skilled craftsman with a passion for woodworking. He built a treasured maple rocking horse for his granddaughter and enchanting wooden elves that brought joy to his grandchildren. His carpentry skills, honed by his father, allowed him to fix anything.
Beyond his woodworking talents, Robert was a man of many interests. He soared the skies with remote-controlled airplanes, marveled at the power of steam engines, and cherished his John Deere tractors. Along with restoring tractors, you would often find him at tractor pulls. Robert built several lawn pulling tractors along with a pulling sled that him and his brothers would use in his backyard.
A true horseman, he plowed fields with a team of horses since the age of 10. Then owning horses, him and his wife would go on trail rides with friends and family. Getting Halflinger ponies later in life, he built 2 different wagons and would use them for weddings, and you would often see him carrying kids around in it. Robert being a true animal lover got a Rat Terrier named Uno, which was always by his side.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Renee Adams; brothers, Philip and Earl; granddaughters, Jaclyn Cook and Jessica Adams; great-grandsons, Earl Thomas Cook, Bryson and Nolan Veney.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his seven siblings.
Robert’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
