Rita Truant, age 84, of Bel Air, MD, died on June 21, 2011 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Garibaldi D'Amario and Laura Bonolis D'Amario. Formerly of Hamilton, she spent most of her life caring for her family, especially her children, and she was the matriarch of the family keeping everyone together. Rita was well known and loved for her genuinely cheerful disposition, good nature and radiant smile. A member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, she was a friend to everyone.
Rita is survived by her husband of 64 years, Reno I. Truant of Bel Air, MD; sons, Thomas Reno Truant and wife, Renata, of Bel Air, MD, William F. Truant and wife, Colleen, of Lutherville, MD, Gary J. Truant and wife, Ellen, of Bel Air, MD, and Vincent J. Truant and wife, Karen, of Lutherville, MD; brother, James J. D'Amario, and his wife Patricia, of Bel Air, MD as well as Phillip D'Amario; sister, Anna Ghirardi of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Angela Carne, Elizabeth, Stephanie, William, Andrew, Thomas, and Steven Truant, and Jason Eaton; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Vincent Carne. She is also survived by several nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her brother, Vincent D'Amario and her sister, Elizabeth Scales.
Pallbearers will be Tom, Bill, Gary, and Vincent Truant, John Scales, and Gary D'Amario.
