Rita O. Spedalere of Bel Air, having lived a very full and active 90+ years, surrounded by loving family went home to our Heavenly Father and was re-united with her beloved husband Joe on October 27, 2015.
Rita was born March 29, 1925, one of nine children to the late James & Rose Apicella in Highlandtown. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Spedalere. She is survived by her son, Vincent Richard Spedalere of Belcamp, MD; daughters, Donna Marie Seffer (Hans) of Boca Raton, FL; Cheryl Lynne Poole of Aberdeen, MD; and Tina Marie Wagner (Robert) of Bel Air, MD; brother, Albert Apicella of Millsboro, DE; sisters, Rosemarie Denver and Theresa Apicella both of Baltimore; and grandchildren, Lauren Rains of Baltimore; Kimberly Rains of Forest Hill and Michele Rains of Charleston, SC.
Rita was a beautician by trade, a homemaker for life and had worked for many years with her husband of 51 years in his business, Meridian Brick and Ridge Homes. She had formerly lived in Timonium, Joppatowne, Las Vegas, NV and Bel Air, MD.
She was an avid bowler, a member of the "Keenager" bowling league in Forest Hill, MD. Rita was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, Baltimore Chapter, and past volunteer at City of Hope in Las Vegas and Tri County Humane Society in Boca Raton, FL. She always enjoyed her time and friends at "First Fridays" at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Bel Air as well as the Bel Air Senior Center. She enjoyed playing Bunco with "the girls" and was always up for a game of rummy.
Throughout Rita's life, her family was most dear to her and always came first.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Rita O. Spedalere.
