Rieta E. Howell

RIETA E. HOWELL, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 5, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Upton, NC, she was the daughter of the late David Madison and Mollie Day Estes. She retired from Edgewood Arsenal in 1974 where she was a Post Publication Control Officer. She was a hardworker and took great pride in her memory and spelling. A longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, she held various positions there, and enjoyed reading, music, and traveling.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond R. Howell of Bel Air, MD; a sister, Irene Estes Poole and her husband, Eugene, of Bel Air, MD; a niece, Rachel Ferrara and her husband, Peter, of Orlando, FL; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Andrews; one half-brother and four half-sisters.

Pallbearers will be Hobart Howell Jr., Walter Jones, Paul Childress, James Little, James Wingler, and Jeff Harris.
