Richard Wayne Thomas

Richard Wayne Thomas, 69, of Fallston, MD passed away on January 17, 2016 at Conemaugh Health Systems in Johnstown, PA. Born in Salisbury, PA, he was the son of the late Forrest Homer Thomas and Amelia Drew (Skidmore) Thomas. He owned and operated Thomas & Thomas Moving and Storage Inc. for 40 years. He was a very hardworking man, devoted to his family and his business. He loved watching baseball, building and flying model airplanes, and looking at cars from all eras. Richard was an organ recipient having received a kidney from his brother Ralph Thomas in 1996. He in turn was an organ donor, now giving so many people a fresh hope, a new chance and a better life.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 27 years, Grace L. (Cover) Thomas; sons, Richard W. Thomas Jr. of Salisbury, PA and Eric W. Thomas of Fallston; daughters, Holly L. Kunkel and husband, Scott, of Fair Hill and Amy J. Caris and husband, Jesse of Fallston; sisters, Emogen T. Christner and Helen M. Housel and husband, George Sr., all of Salisbury, PA, Pauline A. Harmic and husband, Randy, of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, Mark A. Smith Jr., Noel N. Harper and husband, Matthew, Alonna N. Kunkel, Bradley T. Iannuzzi, Hunter J. Iannuzzi and Jax S. Iannuzzi; and sisters-in-law, Rose M. Thomas of Baltimore and Neva D. Thomas of Berkley Springs, WV. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Mary E. Veranekis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, William H. Thomas Sr., Mahlon F. Thomas, Ralph E. Thomas and John C. Thomas; and brother-in-law, Earl R. Christner.
