Richard Thomas Meinert, Sgt. U.S. Army, age 74, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018. He is the son of Richard Milton Meinert and Maurine Eva Meinert of Heyward, CA.
From an early age his dream in life was to serve his country. Having enlisted in the early 1960’s, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and the MD National Guard for over 25 years. He considered his time in service to his country to be his life’s greatest honor and privilege.
He was an active member of the Susquehanna Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints which was a source of great joy and comfort in the latter years of life.
Mr. Meinert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Lee Meinert (Gough); his children, Russell Edward Meinert and his wife Sheri of Cary, NC, Debra Ann Meinert (Deb) and her husband Wimpy of Radcliffe, KY, and Susan Kay Meinert and husband Terry of Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren.
Richard’s family is extremely grateful for all the love and support they have received at this very difficult time.
