RICHARD L. PALARDY SR., age 82, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Howard Joseph and Frances Ann Mueller Palardy. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. While in the Pacific Theater, his LST was torpedoed and sunk. He was a master plumber and a member of Plumbers Local # 468 since 1942. He was also a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, the VFW, and the American Legion in Bel Air. He was a past commodore of Otter Point Yacht Club.
Mr. Palardy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Whitson Palardy of Bel Air, MD; a son, Richard L. Palardy, Jr. of Fallston, MD; three daughters, Deborah D. Peters, and her husband, Leslie, of Honolulu, HI, Stephanie A. Byrne and her husband, John, of Richmond, VA, and Margaret Mascari of Abingdon, MD; a brother, John Palardy and his wife, Hilda, of Towson, MD; a sister, Mary Rice of Cockeysville, MD; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bradley Mascari, Derek Birkmire, Brett Birkmire, Jonathan Palardy, Richard Palardy Jr. and John Byrne.
