Richard Douglas Smith

Richard Douglas Smith, age 85, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on March 14, 2021 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, Maryland. Born in Hayesville North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lula (Dyer) Smith and husband of Velda Sue Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed sports, gardening, spending time with his grandson, and traveling in his RV.

In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, Richard is survived by his daughter, Deborah Smith Williams; grandson, Ian Smith Williams; sister, Betty Gramlich and brother, Roger Smith.

He was preceded in death by father, mother, and sister, Helen Smith Robinson.
