Richard ''Dick'' J. Brown

July 29, 1931 — April 8, 2017

Richard "Dick" J. Brown, age 85, of Joppa, MD went to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He passed away on April 8, 2017 at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, MD. Born in Lincoln, IL, he was the son of Emil and Edith (Bocian) Brown. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 52 years serving on the church council, Lay Ministry and Fellowship teams, head of the ushers, facility manager and the GoodTimers group. He enjoyed traveling to Disney World and the Outer Banks with family. As a teenager growing up on the Detroit River, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed camping and taking his sons to their sports and scouting activities. His main hobby was working in his yard.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Ann Brown; two sons, Kendall Ross Brown of Jarrettsville, MD and Richard (Dennise ) Leigh Brown of Stewartstown, PA; granddaughter, Caitlin M. Brown of Richmond, VA; two grandsons, Alex R. Brown of Stewartstown, PA and Adam R. Brown of Jarrettsville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1100 Philadelphia Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
