RICHARD”DICK” GRUBER, age 73, of Aberdeen, died at his residence on May 21, 2005. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter Clark and Mary E. Beavers Gruber. He had retired after 42 years of service at York Building Products where he worked as a block dispatcher. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Harford Cecil Bowling Association. He delivered for Flowers by Lucy for 7 years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching baseball, watching his children play sports, and helping other people. He was a devoted husband and his family said that his life was his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Gruber is survived by his wife of 48 years, “Pat” Edna M. Signor Gruber; two sons, Douglas E. Gruber of Aberdeen and Bryant L. Gruber of Middletown, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Sally A. Hull of Chesapeake City; one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Wilson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Richard C. Gruber.
Pallbearers will be: Zachary Fowl, John Fowl, Robert Walker, William Baumgarner, Douglas Gruber, and Bryant Gruber.
