Richard Clarance Claycomb

RICHARD CLARANCE CLAYCOMB, age 84, of Abingdon, Maryland died in Tender Loving Care of Edgewood, Maryland on August 23, 2004. Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Russell and Viola Mae Horner Claycomb. He worked for Bethlehem Steel’s Johnstown location for 30 plus years in Franklin, Pennsylvania doing wheel manufacturing. Formerly of Johnstown, PA for 78 years, he was a resident of Harford County for 6 and 1/2 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Mr Claycomb is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ida Ruth Hutchison Claycomb; one son, Barry R. Claycomb, Sr. of Youngstown, Ohio; one daughter, Sylvia D. Podolak of Abingdon, MD; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Clinton R. Claycomb.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
