Richard Anthony Bucci, age 85, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on February 14, 2022 at his home. Born in Port Chester, New York, he was the son of Dominick and Mabel (Giorno) Bucci and husband of Mary (Kalil) Bucci.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a Mechanical Engineer for 43 years. He umpired baseball for the local high schools, taught CCD, tutored high school math students and was Treasurer of the Fathers’ Club at the Institute of Notre Dame. He was a very devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family was his priority. “Booch”, as he was affectionately known by friends, was a life-long New York Yankees fan and an opera aficionado. He loved to laugh and make others laugh as well.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Bucci; daughters, Mary Angela Wood (Jeffrey) and Theresa Marie Simon; son, Joseph Gregory Bucci (Toni); brother, Brian Bucci; grandchildren, Angela Cruise (Casey), Jena Wood, Jonathan Wood, Kari Wood, Gabriella Bucci, Dominick Bucci and Vincent Bucci; and great grandchild, Emmylou Cruise.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Jane Bucci (nee Kelly).
