Reva Jo Springfield

REVA JO SPRINGFIELD, age 71, a long-time resident of Joppa, Md., passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in The Villages, Florida. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, George E. Springfield, her children Dewinda Knauer and her husband, Jimmy of Manchester, MD; Michael Springfield of Edgewood, MD.; Andy Springfield of Joppa, MD; Timothy Springfield and his wife, Kelli of Ocean Pines, MD.; John Springfield and his wife, Chrissy of Gilbert, AZ.; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, George E. Springfield Jr. and Randy Springfield. Mrs. Springfield was the beloved sister of Ruth Dodson of Oklahoma City, OK., Richard Glennon of Orlando, FL., Ann Hughes of Kansas City, MO., Van Glennon of Tulsa, OK., John Glennon of Livonia, MI., and Rachael Beveridge of Joppa, MD., and was preceded in death by her parents, John & Enid Glennon, and sisters Kathryn Howard, Rosalie Wszolek and Rebecca Swatzell.

Mrs. Springfield was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 13, 1936. She met her husband, George, who was serving in the US Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and they were married on October 6, 1956. After George's discharge from the Army, they moved to Annapolis, Maryland. They eventually settled in Joppa, Maryland, where they raised their seven children and her sister, Rachael. Mr. and Mrs. Springfield are long-time members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mrs. Springfield loved to travel and visited every continent on her many trips. She also loved to play Mahjong and Bridge and pursued her hobby of genealogy with passion. In addition to her many interests, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.


The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure of Breast Cancer Charity.
